Vehicle that plunged into the Crocodile River found

The vehicle that plunged into the Crocodile River outside Mbombela City in Mpumalanga on Sunday morning has been found.

Reports say that there were two occupants in the vehicle.

Provincial head of police divers, Captain Johan Potgieter, says the vehicle will soon be pulled out.

Potgieter says, “As far as we know, this is a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle came passed the T-junction, it went through a barricade, down the escarpment, to the Crocodile River. So far as we know, there are people inside the vehicle. We don’t know how many.”

Potgieter further adds: ” The water is extremely cold, but luckily, we found the vehicle. So now, the next part of the job is to tow… the Van Wettens and try to pull it out and we will see and confirm how many people. It might happen that some might have been washed out of the vehicle.”
