By Zoila Palma: On August 15, 2026, the annual Yellow Ginger Festival celebrated its 11th year with Park Fest 2026, held at Punta Gorda’s Central Park under the theme “Embrace Our Culture and Shape Our Future.”
The festival brought together members of the community to showcase the rich Indo-Belizean heritage of the East Indian community in southern Belize.
The event featured cultural performances, traditional cuisine and activities highlighting the customs and traditions passed down through generations.
Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Culture, President Vaughn and the NICH Board congratulated the Yellow Ginger Festival Committee for its continued dedication to safeguarding, promoting and celebrating East Indian traditions in Belize.
