By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have formally arrested and charged a Sand Hill Village man in connection with the shooting death of 15-year-old Rackeem Raheem Armstrong and the shooting of 18-year-old Justin Anthony Young.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Gardenia Village, Belize District. Armstrong, a Belizean student of Gardenia Village, was fatally shot, while Young, a Belizean laborer also of Gardenia Village, was injured.
Police have arrested 34-year-old Dean Emerson Vaccaro, a Belizean laborer of Mile 21 on the Philip Goldson Highway, Sand Hill Village.
Vaccaro was formally arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm.
After being cautioned, Vaccaro reportedly chose to remain silent but requested to make a phone call to a relative, which police say was granted.
The matter is expected to proceed before the court.
