By Zoila Palma: The Belize City Council joined in extending heartfelt congratulations to the newly crowned Miss Earth Belize, Vashti Thompson, on her wonderful achievement.
“We wish her every success as she begins her reign and takes on the important responsibility of using her platform to champion environmental awareness, sustainability, and positive change,” the council said.
Leading up to the pageant, Thompson and all the other contestants demonstrated that their commitment to the environment goes beyond the pageant stage.
In collaboration with the Department of the Environment (DOE) and the Belize City Council Sanitation Team, the contestants participated in a community cleanup spanning the area from Couch Shell Bay to Michael Finnegan Market.
“Their collective efforts were a meaningful demonstration of community service, environmental stewardship, and advocacy for a cleaner Belize,” the council added.
The Belize City Council urged everyone to continue using your voices and platforms to advocate for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Belize.
