Branson Oduor, 27-year-old missing Baltimore man, found dead

Baltimore police recovered the body of 27-year-old Branson Oduor on April 14 in the Inner Harbor after he was reported missing following a night out in Fells Point almost two weeks prior. Authorities are still investigating the cause of death. Loved ones remember him as a caring, outgoing person deeply connected to the city. Branson Oduor, a 27-year-old Baltimore man who went missing almost two weeks ago, has been found dead, the Baltimore City Police Department announced April 14. 

Authorities said Oduor’s body was recovered in the water at the 500 block of East Pratt St. the morning of April 14 at approximately 8:10 a.m. The investigation into the cause of his death is ongoing and an autopsy has not yet been performed.

Oduor was reported missing April 4, after a night out in the Fells Point area with a friend. Footage from The Horse You Came In On Saloon shows Oduor stumbling along Thames Street at around 2:15 a.m. while dressed in a blue sweatshirt and tan-colored hat. He was last seen by a security camera at Kneads Bakery on Fleet Street in Harbor East at 3:57 that morning, his girlfriend, Emily Costa said in an interview with the AFRO

Costa said it was “very unusual” behavior for Oduor as he knew the city well and had been living here for five years.

She described him as outgoing, caring and sweet. “He always has a big smile on his face and he helps me not take life too seriously and has fun with it,” said Costa. 

Costa shared that Oduor was an avid runner, which helped him build community in Baltimore during his time here.

“He’s impacted a lot of people in his life,” said Costa. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
