BRENTFORD STRIKER Ivan Toney has started a fund-raising campaign for the people affected by a volcanic eruption on the island of St Vincent, in the Caribbean, the club’s official website reports. La Soufrière or Soufrière Saint Vincent is an active volcano on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which erupted recently. The eruptions have blanketed the Caribbean island in ash, forcing around 20,000 people from their homes and leaving many ...without power or running water. They do not know if they will be able to return home and Toney has pledged to help, he has set up a fund-raising page and made a large donation himself. Toney said: “Saint Vincent is an island incredibly close to mine and my family’s hearts. My father’s parents, my grandparents, were both born on Saint Vincent, and are both now buried there in Georgetown, which is one of the towns categorised as being within the Red Zone – a place considered at the highest risk." Toney released his fund-raising page and has set a target of £50,000. He said all money raised would be utilised to directly help and assist those who need it the most on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which will be achieved by working closely with local charities and organisations situated on the islands. He also shared the fund-raising effort on his Instagram page. https://www.gofundme.com/f/ivan-toneys-st-vincent-volcano-r…
