Calvary’s survival hopes hang by a thread ahead of Police clash

Wounded Calvary must beat visiting Police at Midigo Primary School Grounds on Wednesday to keep their faint survival hopes alive.

The hosts come into the game on the back of a defeat to Entebbe UPPC which left them on 13 points at the base of the table.

That defeat at Bugonga ended their four-match unbeaten streak that included beating KCCA and drawing away to Kitara.

Against the 2005 champions, maximum points will lift them from the base of the table for the first time this season, a position they have occupied since day one.

Police hold edge in the past encounters winning all three meetings in all competitions including the reverse fixture 2-0 at Kamwokya with late goals from Brian Obedi and Umar Kasumba.

Matia Lule’s men are 6th on the log with 44 points and victory will lift them to 5th place that is currently occupied by NEC.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Lugazi host Mbarara City in another game involving survival ambitions.
