The Communication Regulatory Authority of Namibia (Cran) has urged organisations to tighten security on cybersecurity postures.
This follows a recent cybersecurity incident at the Namibia Airports Company.
Communication and consumer relations executive Mufaro Nesongano calls on companies to strengthen security by implementing robust security controls, enforcing governance of security policies and activating multifactor authentication.
He says companies must ensure real-time monitoring of security events.
“Incidents like this are important reminders for organisations across all sectors to strengthen their cyber resilience and remain vigilant against evolving digital threats. Organisations must deploy endpoint and extended detection and response capabilities, as well as prioritise continuous cybersecurity awareness training for all employees,” he says.
Nesongano says the Namibia Cyber Security Incident Response Team is committed to transparency and will continue to keep stakeholders informed of significant developments, adding that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.
