Atlanta’s creative community showed up in a major way as Creatives of Color Weekend 2026 officially took over the city from May 7–9, bringing together more than 5,000 entrepreneurs, artists, innovators, and industry leaders for a high-energy celebration of culture, collaboration, and creativity. Founded by Brandon Butler and produced by Butter.ATL in partnership with the Atlanta Hawks, the weekend transformed iconic Atlanta venues including State Farm Arena, The Gathering Spot, and Fox Theatre into spaces designed to inspire the next generation of creative leaders.

On Friday, May 9, attendees gathered at the historic Fox Theatre for a full-day conference centered around the evolving future of media, artificial intelligence, funding opportunities, branding, and content strategy. The conference featured a diverse lineup of speakers who represented multiple sectors of the creative economy while offering attendees real-world insight into what it takes to build sustainable brands and impactful careers in today’s rapidly changing landscape.
Featured speakers included Brian Hightower, George F. Baker III, Blair Caffey, Sequoyah Glenn, Drew Tucker, Angela Harris, and E. Mackey. Throughout the day, conversations focused on creative ownership, storytelling, community impact, and how emerging technology continues to reshape the future of culture-driven businesses.

One of the most anticipated moments of the conference came during a fireside conversation between Adriane V. Jefferson and Brandon Butler. The discussion highlighted Atlanta’s continued influence as a cultural capital while emphasizing the importance of investing in Black creatives, preserving authentic storytelling, and creating spaces where innovation and culture can coexist.

Creatives of Color Weekend 2026 ultimately proved why Atlanta remains one of the nation’s leading destinations for culture, entrepreneurship, and artistic innovation. From impactful conversations to meaningful networking opportunities, the weekend created an atmosphere where collaboration thrived and creative voices were amplified. As the event continued to grow in scale and influence, it reinforced the power of community and the importance of creating intentional spaces for creatives of color to learn, connect, and lead.
