Economic Affairs Minister Heads to Baku to Attend Annual Meetings of Islamic Development Bank

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdullah Ould Souleimane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, departed Nouakchott today, Monday, for the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, to participate in the annual meetings of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group, scheduled to take place from June 16 to 19, under the theme: “Regional Integration: A Driver of Sustainable Prosperity.”

The meeting agenda includes sessions of the Board of Governors, a private sector forum to discuss investment and partnership opportunities with business institutions, as well as panel discussions.

Participants in this meeting include the governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group—comprising ministers of economy, finance, planning, and international cooperation, as well as central bank governors from the 57 member states— leaders of multilateral and bilateral development finance institutions, key development stakeholders, Islamic finance experts, and representatives of the private sector, non-governmental organizations, academia, and the media.
