By Zoila Palma: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton says that she is “deeply disturbed by the mindless murder of Dr. Naum Bonilla in Belmopan, committed in the presence of his five-year-old daughter. It is a tragedy that strikes at the heart of our humanity and threatens the flicker of hope we continue to hold onto.”
“So too does the continued loss of so many of our young men to senseless acts of gun violence on our city streets. These are lives cut short, families shattered, and communities left grieving,” Panton added.
Panton says that Belize cannot afford to lose its young people, its professionals, and its progressive minds at this alarming rate.
“Life is a gift, and it must be protected at all costs, by all means.
I extend my deepest condolences to Dr. Bonilla’s family, the medical fraternity, and to every family mourning the loss of a loved one to violence and crime,” Panton expressed.
