Malema lashes out at rumour that Duduzile Zuma is his ‘side chick’
'Side-chick': Julius Malema threatened legal action against a X user accusing him of having an affair with ousted MK Party's Duduzile Zuma.
Julius Malema has lashed out at an X user’s claim that Duduzile Zuma – the daughter of Jacob Zuma – is his “side chick”.
This comes after the EFF leader took legal action against celebrity blogger Musa Khawula, who claimed that the politician was quietly divorcing his wife, Mantoa Matlala.
On Friday, 19 June, the MK Party announced that it had expelled Duduzile and former spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela.
MALEMA THREATENS ACTION OF DUDUZILE ZUMA ‘SIDE CHICK’ RUMOUR
On his X account, Julius Malema reacted to news that Duduzile Zuma had been shown the door by the MK Party, founded by her father, Jacob Zuma.
Tweeting his support to Duduzile, he posted: “Nothing new, you have seen it all and still emerged victorious. I won’t ask you to be strong because I know you are strong. You have been strong since you were a young girl, dealing with adult issues
@DZumaSambudla”.
In the comments section, many X users accused Malema of trying to lure Duduzile to the EFF. Others suggested more inappropriate behaviour outside of politics.
One X user, Jeff Ngobeni, using the handle @MbhazimawaGaza, even went as far as to accuse Malema of having an extra-marital affair with Duduzile.

He tweeted: “Papa Ratanang has no shame. Praising the side chick right in public without shame or reservations”
Malema quickly caught wind of the tweet, clapping back: “Delete or else! You have until 3pm today”.
Ngobeni begrudgingly obliged, tweeting: “I deleted the post, freedom of speech is compromised in the presence of the likes of Papa Ratanang, who bullies and insults others but can’t take the same punch when directed to them. I hereby state that, as the citizens of South Africa who are against the cult, we know what we know”.
MAKING AN EXAMPLE OUT OF MUSA KHAWULA
Julius Malema’s legal threat against the X user comes after Musa Khawula was forced to apologise for tweets claiming that the EFF leader was quietly divorcing his wife, Mantoa Matlala.
The celebrity blogger initially ignored a court order to apologise and delete his tweets about the couple. He also shunned instructions to refrain from tweeting further defamatory statements about the politician.
As a result, he was found in contempt of court and threatened with jail time if he did not comply with the judgment.
After feeling the pressure, Musa cheekily posted an apology to Malema, whom he tagged, brazenly captioning the tweet: “Askies neh, my sweet angel baby pie”.
He jokingly added: “I’m also gonna be voting eff. We can’t afford to lose even one vote by shipping my lil broke a** to prison. Think ahead, my sweet darling. Oh! how I love you”.
