As preparations intensify for its Under-13 team’s participation in an annual football tournament in Antigua, Bath United Football Club has received a welcome boost from several generous sponsors and supporters.
During a brief presentation ceremony held on the evening of Thursday, June 18, the club officially accepted a number of donations aimed at assisting the young footballers as they prepare for their overseas trip.
The first presentation came from Daniel Claxton, who, on behalf of Lucy Donna at 7 in the United Kingdom, donated a full set of uniforms for the Under-13 squad. The contribution was warmly received by club officials, players and parents alike.
Attorney-at-Law and parent of one of the players, Mrs. Maurisha Robinson, then presented 16 pairs of football boots on behalf of a group of donors who wished to support the team’s development and travel aspirations.
The evening concluded with another generous gesture from parent Mervin Powell, who donated two footballs to the club and pledged additional support in the future.
Head Coach Alex Claxton expressed heartfelt appreciation to all the donors for their generosity and commitment to youth development through sport.
“We are extremely grateful for these contributions,” Coach Claxton said. “The support we have received demonstrates the community’s belief in our young players and their potential. These donations will go a long way in helping us prepare for the tournament in Antigua.”
He also used the opportunity to appeal to other businesses and individuals to come on board as sponsors as the club continues its fundraising efforts to cover travel and other expenses associated with the upcoming trip.
Bath United Football Club remains optimistic that, with continued community support, its young ambassadors will proudly represent Nevis and make a strong impression at the Antigua tournament.
