The draw for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup was conducted on Tuesday, with groups for the twentieth edition of the event confirmed.
The sixteen teams, including two African sides – Mali and Nigeria, were divided into four groups of four teams each.
Mali were drawn into a tough Group A alongside hosts Germany, 2014 finalists Spain, and Japan.

African champions Nigeria were drawn into Group B and are joined by rising global power house France, Korea and Hungary.
Fixtures
Nigeria will face Korea in their opening game on Friday, September 9, while Mali will battle Japan on the same day.

The 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup will take place from September 4–13 in Berlin, Germany, with the field expanded from 12 to 16 teams following the most successful edition ever, held four years ago, highlighting the ever-increasing popularity of the women’s game globally.
