A 39-year-old man was fatally attacked by four dogs while walking along a footpath in Southerton, Harare.
Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the death of Malcom Takudzwa Muzavazi (39), who was attacked on September 24, 2026, between 1800 and 1830 hours.
The incident occurred along a footpath between the ZESA Holdings durawall and a car sale in Southerton.
According to police, the dogs — comprising a male Belgian Malinois and three Belgian Malinois or German Shepherd crossbreeds— were under the care of a private security guard who had released them from their kennels for feeding.
Muzavazi was attacked during that period and sustained fatal injuries.
Commissioner Nyathi said the security guard, Mannex Svova (21), and the co-owner of the car sale, Itai Tamirepi (43), have been arrested and are assisting police with investigations.
