Married at First Sight Mzansi season 3 coming soon

Love, commitment and a leap of faith are making a return to television screens as another season of Married at First Sight Mzansi prepares to premiere in July.

The hit reality series is back for a third season, giving viewers another opportunity to watch complete strangers take one of the biggest risks of their lives in the hope of finding lasting love.

MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT MZANSI RETURNS

Mzansi Magic has officially announced the highly anticipated third season of Married at First Sight Mzansi. The new season premieres exclusively on Mzansi Magic on Sunday, 5 July 2026.

Fans can look forward to a special 90-minute launch episode at 17:30. Thereafter, the show will move to its regular weekly timeslot at 18:00.

The reality series follows singles who agree to marry partners carefully selected for them by relationship experts. The catch is that they meet for the very first time on their wedding day.

From the moment they walk down the aisle, the couples begin an unusual journey together. Along the way, they face emotional conversations, difficult decisions and unexpected challenges as they try to build a relationship with someone they barely know.

As excitement continues to build, viewers can expect plenty of memorable moments. There will be celebrations, heartbreaks, surprises and important lessons about relationships.

EXPERTS RETURN TO GUIDE THE COUPLES

This season also welcomes back a panel of experts who will guide the couples throughout the experiment.

The panel includes relationship expert Thabang Mashigo, relationship coach and officiator Pastor Xolani Hiltana, intimacy expert Dr Mpume Zenda and marriage and family counsellor Bakhe Dlamini, who first appeared in Season 1.

According to Youth Village, Thabang Mashigo explained why he continues to believe in the process.

“I believe in love and in matchmaking as a feasible concept to achieve it. Real connections are rare, but rare connections are real. This is the right platform to test that hypothesis. When I was called back, my only priority was to serve in the best possible way.”

Mashigo also shared what makes a successful match on the show. According to him, true compatibility is not only about attraction.

“‘Sight’ is not always just about what you see, but rather what you are willing to discover in another individual. A strong match is assessed on the basis of willingness. Willingness to discover the character traits that teach you to compromise and the behaviours that need to be unlearned as a means to embrace the love that is envisioned.”

She added: “Most importantly, it is the willingness to choose consistency over chemistry, reliability over romance and someone who will show up for you rather than simply providing the ‘sparkles’.”

MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT MZANSI OFFERS REAL LESSONS ABOUT LOVE

Mashigo believes viewers connect most with contestants who are honest and willing to grow.

“People should watch because it is authentic vulnerability. The contestants who usually resonate most with viewers are not necessarily the most dramatic, but those who show genuine self-reflection, accountability and a willingness to grow throughout the process.”

She explained that finding a match is only the first step.

“Being matched with a potentially compatible partner is only the beginning. Long-term success depends on emotional intelligence, timing, self-awareness and the ability to build trust after the match is made.”

She also described the show as an important learning experience for viewers.

“Married at First Sight Mzansi is the teacher that Mzansi needs to observe to better understand the dynamics of relationships. Stay tuned. It will certainly be an unforgettable ride.”

WILL THE NEW COUPLES FIND LASTING LOVE?

Season 2 introduced viewers to four couples: Nelisa Ntabeni and Themba Khosa, Portia Baloyi and Bongani Luvalo, Palesa Mphaki and Tshepo Miya, as well as Makoto Phumodi and Nkululeko Mahlangu.

Although several relationships struggled after filming ended, one couple has continued to thrive. Today, Nelisa Ntabeni and Themba Khoza remain the only couple still together and often share updates about their marriage on social media.

Now, a new group of hopeful romantics is preparing to put their hearts on the line. As the countdown to season three begins, viewers will once again get a front-row seat to the highs and lows of married life between strangers.

The question remains: will these new couples find their future husband or wife, or will they discover that love is harder to find than they imagined?
