By Breaking Belize News Staff: He wasn’t repairing a computer but a 27-year-old Belize City IT technician has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison after allegedly trying to fix two people’s business and being charged in connection with an alleged vehicle attack in the parking lot of the Belize City Magistrate’s Court that reportedly left two people injured.
Jahshield Tyrique Myles, of a Tibruce Street address, appeared before a Magistrate in Court #5 on Monday in the presence of his attorney, Leeroy Banner.
The charges stem from an incident on September 28, 2026, in the Magistrate’s Court parking lot on Coney Drive.
Police allege that Myles used a motor vehicle as a dangerous instrument with the intent to cause harm to another man. He was charged with use of deadly means of harm in relation to that man.
Myles was additionally charged with grievous harm and wounding upon a woman. Court reporting also indicated he faces a harm charge in connection with the incident.
The police prosecutor strongly objected to bail, citing the seriousness of the allegations and the fact that the incident allegedly occurred immediately outside the court building.
Banner argued that the charges remain allegations and that his client is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He told the court that Myles is the father and sole provider of one child, and argued that remanding him could cost him his job, customers and livelihood.
The attorney further submitted that Myles is not a flight risk and argued that prosecutors would ultimately have to prove that his client intentionally used the vehicle to cause the alleged injuries.
After standing the matter down briefly, the Magistrate denied bail at approximately 11:16 a.m. and remanded Myles to the Belize Central Prison.
A bail plea was taken on the charge of use of deadly means of harm, while Myles pleaded not guilty to the other charges read to him.
