Officer killed, another critically wounded in a shooting in EC
The two police officers were returning home from duty when the incident occurred.

One police officer has been fatally shot while another one was critically wounded after they were shot at Ngangelizwe in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
Provincial Police Spokesperson, Nobuntu Gantana, says the two officers from Madeira Detective Unit were returning home from duty when the incident occurred.
“The male officer died at the scene. The female officer is in critical condition in hospital. The names of the officers will be released as soon as next-of-kin notification is completed. This is an active crime scene. Further information will be shared in due course. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS App.”
