RIP - TREMAINE ‘TAN TAN’ STEWART, a winger/striker for Dunbeholden FC in the Jamaican Red Stripe Premier League, collapsed while playing ‘corner league’ football and was pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital on Sunday 18th April. The Spanish Town-born 33-year-old dropped down during the kick around in Gordon Pen, St. Catherine, with the exact cause of death yet to be disclosed. He kicked off his career as an eager 18-year-old for August Town in 2006, then moved to Port...more United two years later. His talents were beginning to take shape, and once drafted into the national team he made an instant impact. He made his debut for Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz against Cuba in February 2012, and five days later grabbed his first goal in their 3-2 success over New Zealand. Stewart only managed one more strike for the Boyz, making a dozen international appearances.
