On Wednesday, August 12, the Saint Lucia national and veterans tapeball cricket teams and their hosts from the Kalinago Territory in Dominica took a break from their bilateral series to play an invitational match at Jolly John Playing Field. The tour, which includes several T10 and T20 matches, runs until Sunday.
In the midweek game against Dynamic Stars, Saint Lucia won via the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Saint Lucia batted first and scored 180 for 5 in 15 overs. Barry Eurysthee made 51, Nicholas Bruno scored 44, and Fendley Estephane added 32. Dante Laurent took two wickets for Dynamic Stars.
Dynamic Stars were held to 157 for 7 in 13 overs, led by Neo Davis’ 77, when bad light stopped the match early. Captain and man of the match Barry Eurysthee took two wickets to keep Saint Lucia ahead when play ended. Kim Augustin also took two wickets.
With the midweek game over, both teams return to the main series for the last four days of the tour.
On Thursday, Saint Lucia and Dominica veterans play a T10 match, followed by a T20 game between the national teams. Friday has two more T20 matches, and Saturday’s T10 Festival features four games. The tour ends with the final matches in Roseau on Sunday.
