A security guard escaped an alleged armed robbery attempt at a business on Utility Drive in Cassada Gardens early Sunday.
According to reports, the incident happened around one o’clock Sunday morning while the guard was asleep in his vehicle on the company’s premises.
Reports are that an unknown man, described as slim, dark-skinned and about five feet seven inches tall, approached the vehicle wearing a ski mask and armed with a cutlass. He allegedly used the weapon to smash the front passenger window before pulling the guard from the car and demanding keys to the building.
A struggle is said to have followed, with the alleged attacker reportedly also carrying a knife and a screwdriver. According to sources, the guard managed to push the man away and leave the premises.
No injuries have been reported, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
