Daouda Djire won the second stage of the 2026 Tour of Mali on Wednesday, a 75-kilometer race between Sikasso and Niema.
Following the first stage in Sikasso, won on Tuesday by Mali’s champion Tiemoko Diamoutene, the riders competing in this edition of the 2026 Tour of Mali were back on the road for the second stage.
At the end of a hard-fought stage, Mali secured its second consecutive victory. Daouda Djire was the first to cross the finish line.
Despite strong competition from his rivals, the rider from the Airness Cycling Club of Niena showed courage to outclass the field.
An all-Malian podium was recorded on this second stage. Moussa Togola and Tiemoko Diallo finished second and third, respectively.
However, the yellow jersey is no longer held by a Malian rider. It is now worn by the Guinean-Bissau cyclist Rahil Zouhair.
