The discussions took place in Dodoma on May 7, 2026,  during a meeting between the Minister for Energy, Deogratius Ndejembi, and the DRC Minister of Hydrocarbons, Acacia Bandubola Mongo.

During their discussions, the two sides explored opportunities for collaboration in the development of oil and gas resources as well as petroleum transportation and distribution infrastructure to improve access to fuel products in the DRC.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr Ndejembi said Tanzania continues to implement major strategic oil and gas infrastructure projects, including the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) from Hoima in Uganda to Tanga in Tanzania, as well as the new TAZAMA pipeline project.

Additionally, he said the projects could open more opportunities for cooperation between Tanzania and the DRC, particularly in petroleum supply and downstream oil sector development, while enhancing energy trade efficiency across East and Central Africa.
