Police have seized more than $26 000 in suspected proceeds of crime and arrested three people following a targeted anti-crime operation in the Dennery and Micoud districts.
The joint operation, carried out on Wednesday, involved officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, the Special Operations Team and the Central Intelligence Unit.
During a search at a residence on Church Street in Dennery Village, officers recovered $16 000 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime. A woman was taken into custody and is assisting with investigations.
In a separate search at Over The Bridge in Dennery, police seized a further $10 386, also suspected to be proceeds of crime. A male suspect was detained.
Both cases have been handed over to the Financial Intelligence Authority.
A search warrant was also executed at a residence in Ti Rocher, Micoud, which led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis resin and cannabis. Peter Plante, 53, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply in connection with that drug bust.
Plante appeared before a magistrate on Wednesday and was granted $1 000 bail on each charge.
