The Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) announced the reversal of recent restricted travel advice to Israel, opening the way for the normalisation of tourism to Israel from the UK.
Following the continued cessation of the war with Iran, the FCDO has reviewed and updated its guidance, having previously advised against all travel to Israel.
The majority of the country is now open to travel (“green”), with “red” advice still in place for parts of Northern Israel. Currently, Israel’s national airline, EL AL and Wizz Air are operating schedules between the UK and Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv.
In April, Israel’s tourism industry resumed activity across the country with tourism sites, cultural attractions, and leisure destinations reopening to the public. UK visitors returning to Israel will find the incredible range of hotels, restaurants, nightlife, national parks, museums and key heritage sites operating as normal.
Michael Ben-Baruch, Director, Israel Ministry of Tourism UK commented:
“There is no doubt that it’s been a challenging period for Israel’s tourism sector, and the recent conflict has created further disruption. However, we welcome the news today of the change in FCDO advice, which paves the way for a normalisation of tourism back to Israel from the UK this summer and beyond.”
