VANCOUVER Police on Tuesday released a video and a photo of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a 61-year-old pedestrian in the Downtown Eastside last month.
The pedestrian was crossing the street at East Hastings and Dunlevy Avenue on December 7, 2025, at 7:23 p.m. when he was struck by two westbound vehicles. Only one of the drivers remained at the scene. Investigators are now searching for a white Range Rover Evoque that failed to remain at the collision scene.
“This vehicle likely sustained damage to the front fender or passenger-side mirror as a result of striking the pedestrian,” says Constable Megan Lui. “If you’ve seen the vehicle, or know the whereabouts of the driver, we’re asking you to please call our investigators.”
The Hastings Street investigation is one of three unsolved hit-and-runs in that have occurred in Vancouver since November 27.
On November 27, 2025, VPD initiated an investigation after a 40-year-old man was struck by a hit-and-run driver near Graveley Street and Slocan Avenue, between 7 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. The 40-year-old man was dragged by the vehicle and sustained life-altering injuries. He is still in the hospital in stable condition. The suspect is believed to be a man who was driving a light grey or silver 2010-2012 Acura RDX.

On December 22, a 81-year-old woman was struck and killed while crossing Rupert Street and Euclid Avenue. The driver did not remain on scene. Police have located and seized a vehicle involved in the collision, but continue to seek anyone with information.
The three collisions are not related.
Witnesses, or anyone with information about any of these incidents, are asked to call the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012 to email vpdciu@vpd.ca.
