Watch the Jonas Brothers Stir Up Competition (& Romance!) Between Campers in ‘Camp Rock 3’ Trailer
The new class of rockers repeat history by sparking romance while pursuing their dreams.

This is real: The first full trailer for Camp Rock 3 has arrived! In the two-minute preview posted Tuesday (July 21), the Jonas Brothers make a momentous return to their old stomping rounds, this time in search of their next opener.

Dropping less than a month ahead of the film’s premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+, the trailer shows Joe, Nick and Kevin reprising their roles as members of the fictitious rock band Connect 3, emerging from a caravan of fancy cars and earning shocked gasps from the camp’s latest class of young rockers upon their arrival. But instead of coming back to resume their former jobs as camp counselors, the trio reveals that they’re actually there to hunt for the next big thing to join them on the road.
“We figured why not find our opening act right here, right now?” Nick tells the campers at the beginning of summer, after which Joe explains that they’ll have to undergo three challenges before qualifying for the Final Jam, where the winner will be selected.
“As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested — leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances,” a synopsis reads.
The trailer also features nostalgic snippets of the Jo Bros and Demi Lovato from the first Camp Rock film — which premiered in 2008 and led to “This Is Me” from the soundtrack reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 — as well as a peek at the new teen characters joining the franchise. At the heart of the storyline are Sage (Liamani Segura) and Fletch (Malachi Barton), who face conflict when competition threatens to get in the way of their romantic feelings for one another (similar to the challenges Joe and Lovato’s characters faced in the first and second films).
Camp Rock 3 is set to premiere Aug. 13 on Disney Channel and will become available to stream the following day on Disney+. The Jonases are also serving as executive producers over the project alongside Lovato, whose name is not listed in the cast.
The new film does, however, feature Maria Canals-Barrera, who starred as the mom of Lovato’s character, Mitchie, and camp chef in the first two Camp Rock films. Plus, the trailer shows Joy Ride star Sherry Cola making her debut as Connect 3’s begrudging tour manager, Lark.
