A 51-year-old African-Australian mother from Wyndham Vale has died following a devastating road crash in Queensland, leaving behind a grieving family and community.
Roza Abebwa , described by loved ones as a caring and selfless woman, was on holiday near Brisbane when the fatal collision occurred on Saturday night. She had just attended her grandson’s birthday celebration before the incident.
Police allege that a Ford Falcon ute, carrying teenagers, was travelling at high speed on the wrong side of the road before crashing head-on into the Ford Focus Rosa was travelling in. She was a passenger in the vehicle, alongside her 28-year-old niece and her youngest daughter, who is just two years old.

The young child survived the crash and is currently recovering in hospital.
Authorities are investigating whether the vehicle had been involved in hooning activity south of Brisbane prior to the crash. At this stage, no charges have been laid as investigations continue.
Rosa’s family has expressed deep grief, describing her as “a light for everyone she knew” and “like a mother to many.” Her loss has left a significant void, particularly for her eight children and extended family.
