Zimbabwe international Tawanda Maswanhise has been voted Motherwell FC’s Player of the Month, marking yet another milestone in what is shaping up to be a breakout season for the Warriors forward.
The latest accolade follows a stellar run of form that has seen Maswanhise establish himself as one of the most clinical finishers in the Scottish Premiership. In November, he swept both the club’s and the league’s Player of the Month awards, underlining his growing influence in Scottish football.
Despite missing fixtures against Rangers and Celtic at the turn of the year due to international duty with Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup of Nations, Maswanhise returned to domestic action seamlessly, picking up where he left off.
Speaking in a video posted on Motherwell’s official Facebook page, a delighted Maswanhise credited the team’s positive momentum for his continued success.
“Thank you for the January Player of the Month, hopefully many to come. The atmosphere is increasing week by week, hoping I would keep on excelling here,” he said.
Motherwell have enjoyed an impressive run of results, winning four of their last five matches, a run Maswanhise says has boosted confidence and energy within the squad.
With 18 goals already this season, the Zimbabwean forward is firmly on course for a 20-goal campaign.
