A Soca Classic Reimagined: Sedale’s Insane brings new energy to Carnival 2026

Saint Lucian artist Sedale has released his latest tune, Insane, to much fanfare and applause ahead of the 2026 Saint Lucia Carnival season. The soca track samples the iconic Wet Me by Barbados’ Edwin Yearwood of Krosfyah, paying homage both to the classic and to Yearwood’s enduring legacy. So far, it has been well-received across social media platforms.

The artist, whose full name is Sedale Simei, told St. Lucia Times that the song was initially marketed through social media in a unique way.

“How it started with me having this—this thing that I do on Instagram called ‘Dash It or Drop It’ where I play a song for people, and they determine whether I drop the song or dash the song. This particular song I played, and I also had to have my—my followers tag Edwin Yearwood to authorise the song because again, I use his chorus from a previous song. So after people tagged him—over 100 people tagged him on that post—he came out, and he authorised the song.”

Yearwood’s nod of approval came through a comment under an Instagram post:

“This is Edwin Yearwood, lead singer of Krosfyah outta Barbados. You have permission to DROP THAT TUNE!”

Since its release, a music video has been paired with the track on YouTube, which at the time of writing has already garnered 3 500 views in just two days. Sedale appears poised for a strong 2026 Carnival season, setting the tone with such a powerful offering.
