This information was made known by Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Union of Machine-Builders.

“Russia’s friendship with African nations is based on decades of relations of respect and trust. Our country has always provided comprehensive assistance to the people of the continent, helping them fight for independence, justice, and freedom, including with reliable and effective weapons,” Mikheev said.
During an address on Africa Day on the 25th, the director general noted that contracts for technological cooperation projects between Rosoboronexport and Africa are valued at around $1.7 billion.
“Today, Rosoboronexport has forty-six African countries among its partners, with whom it has signed intergovernmental agreements on military-technical cooperation.
The continent accounts for 30% of the company’s book of orders, with contracts for technological cooperation projects worth over $1.7 billion.”’
What Rosoboronexport stated
“Rosoboronexport interacts with its African partners both at international trade fairs and on a bilateral basis, including through the productive work of Rostec State Corporation’s representative offices based in key countries of the African continent.
Delegations from African nations are expected to take an active part in the 1st International Security Forum, which begins on 26 May and will be held at several venues in the Moscow Region,” the company said.
As earlier reported, the Russian defense company revealed that it has spent approximately $20 billion in Africa.
According to Rosoboronexport, this sum was distributed among 150 contracts with several African nations.
As seen on Defenseweb, Rosoboronexport also revealed that it is fostering mutually advantageous collaboration with African partners by providing direct supply of Russian defense items and support for the execution of different infrastructure projects.
“The company is prepared to consider a wide range of industrial cooperation options, including licensed and joint production, development of advanced weapons and military equipment, as well as their modernisation, post-sale service and maintenance.”
The Russian defense exporter promises to provide African governments with tailored defense solutions to improve security and coastline protection, as well as direct military equipment shipments.
Other areas of focus include infrastructure support, potential for licensed and joint manufacturing, collaboration in research and development (R&D), and modernization, servicing, and maintenance of current defense equipment.
