By Zoila Palma: BRIDGE 501, the Belize City Council, the City of Miramar, and dedicated community partners proudly celebrated the successful completion of the Stella Maris School Uniform Initiative, an early and meaningful example of what collaboration through the Belize City and Miramar Sister City relationship can accomplish.
The Belize City Council explained that what began as a goal to provide one school uniform for each of Stella Maris’ 147 students became something even greater.
“Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors, community partners, and members of the Belizean diaspora, each student will now receive TWO school uniforms for the new school year.
The initiative was showcased during the inaugural Belize Day in Miramar, demonstrating how Sister City partnerships can move beyond ceremony to create real, tangible impact in our communities,” the Belize City Council said.
Today, BRIDGE 501 presented a ceremonial check to Stella Maris School, with the Belize City Council represented by Councillor Kaya Cattouse.
BRIDGE 501 extended gratitude to Mayor Bernard Wagner & Belize City Council, Mayor Wayne Messam & the City of Miramar, City of Miramar Sister City Board & Committee, The Belize Collection, Dibary, the local uniform procurement partner, and every donor, sponsor, community partner, and member of the Belizean diaspora who helped make this possible.
