By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Belize Coast Guard successfully rescued seven people, including two minors, after responding to a distress call involving a vessel taking on water in the San Pedro area on Saturday.

According to the Coast Guard, personnel launched a rapid and coordinated search and rescue response after receiving the emergency report.

The distressed vessel was located, and all seven persons onboard were safely evacuated and transported to shore without injury.

The successful rescue operation highlights the Coast Guard’s ongoing commitment to protecting lives at sea and maintaining operational readiness across Belize’s maritime areas.

Officials say personnel remain on standby 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies, combat illegal activities, protect marine resources and safeguard the safety and security of Belize’s maritime domain.

The Coast Guard says Saturday’s operation is another reminder of the importance of quick reporting, emergency preparedness and coordinated response when incidents occur at sea.
