British-Jamaican rap and dancehall artist Stefflon Don has secured a major career milestone after selling her music catalogue to HarbourView Equity Partners, a leading investment firm known for acquiring culturally influential music assets.

The deal sees HarbourView acquire the compositions and recordings from the artist’s full catalogue of works released prior to 2024, adding another Caribbean voice to the company’s growing entertainment portfolio.

Stefflon Don’s catalogue includes several international hits that helped establish her as one of the most recognizable female voices bridging hip-hop, rap, Afrobeats and dancehall. Among the songs included in the acquisition are 16 Shots, Hurtin’ Me, Boasty, Senseless and Can’t Let You Go.

HarbourView founder and CEO Sherrese Clarke described the rapper as a powerful cultural force whose music continues to resonate globally.

“At HarbourView, we invest in artists who are shaping culture across genres and generations,” Clarke said in a press release. “Stefflon Don is a singular voice with global impact, and we’re proud to partner with her to help preserve, amplify and unlock new value from her catalogue while supporting her continued creative evolution.”

Stefflon Don, who has consistently represented her Jamaican heritage through her music and style, said the partnership aligns with her long-term vision.

“Ownership and legacy are everything to me,” she said. “HarbourView came in with a real understanding of my vision and my journey. I’m excited to partner with a team that respects the culture and is invested in where I’m going next.”

The acquisition reflects the growing trend of music catalogue sales, in which major investment firms acquire the rights to songs and recordings from influential artists as valuable intellectual property assets.

Since launching in 2021, HarbourView has rapidly become a major player in the entertainment investment space, reportedly amassing approximately US$3.88 billion in assets under management and acquiring more than 70 music catalogues. The company’s portfolio includes music from artists such as Kelly Clarkson, T-Pain, Nelly, Wiz Khalifa and Christine McVie.

Stefflon Don’s catalogue has also proven commercially successful. According to Luminate, her songs generated more than 673 million on-demand official streams in the United States through May 14. Her global collaborations have also contributed to her international reach, including Billboard-charting tracks such as Hurtin’ Me featuring French Montana, Calypso with Luis Fonsi, and Bum Bum Tam Tam alongside Future, J Balvin and Juan Magán.

Despite the catalogue sale, Stefflon Don appears to be showing no signs of slowing down creatively. The artist is currently preparing for a new musical era, with three upcoming singles and several international collaborations already in the pipeline.

Among the anticipated releases are collaborations with Leto, Don Diablo, and a major dancehall track featuring Skillibeng and Vybz Kartel, which is expected to generate strong buzz across Caribbean and international music markets.
