Melbourne, Australia —
The annual Changepreneurs International Women’s Day Dinner was held on March 28th and brought together more than 150 women from diverse backgrounds in a vibrant celebration of community, leadership, and connection. The event was part of a series of activities by Changepreneurs Inc, a Melbourne‑based female‑led organisation dedicated to empowerment, mentorship, and leadership development for women and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and African‑Australian backgrounds.
Throughout the evening, tables buzzed with meaningful conversations and stories of resilience and ambition. Attendees spoke candidly about their journeys, forging new connections amid an atmosphere described by many as both inspiring and uplifting.

The event was hosted by Abiola Akinbiyi, with co‑host Janipher Nambooze. Their stewardship kept the program engaging and anchored in the organisation’s mission to empower participants to pursue leadership and entrepreneurial pathways.
Changepreneurs founder Abiola Akinbiyi is a visionary leader, healthcare professional, and community advocate with over two decades of experience in health, business, and multicultural engagement in Australia. Originally from Nigeria, she has built a career in nursing, clinical education, gerontology, and cultural diversity initiatives.

Akinbiyi leads programs that mentor and empower young CALD women and youth in leadership and community development. She has served as a Commissioner with the Victorian Multicultural Commission and holds board roles with several community organisations. Her work has been recognised with awards for social justice and entrepreneurship. She remains a passionate advocate for women, youth, and multicultural communities.
Guests praised the dinner as a night of “genuine connection” and “authentic storytelling.” Many highlighted the value of meeting peers and role models who reflect the multicultural realities of contemporary Australia.

Changepreneurs Inc has a track record of community engagement through leadership programs, mentorship initiatives and events that aim to equip young women and girls with the skills and confidence to lead. This annual International Women’s Day gathering forms part of that broader mission.
Organisers acknowledged the event sold out quickly, and promised an even larger celebration in 2027 to accommodate growing interest.
International Women’s Day, observed globally on March 8, recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, while advocating continued efforts toward gender equity.
