The Soufrière Comprehensive Secondary School concluded its interhouse sports competition with track finals under the Pitons, on Friday, January 30 at Soufriere Stadium. Clarke House not only repeated as champions, but increased their advantage from 2025.
Last year, Clarke won by over 400 points. This time around, the title holders compiled 4 508, with Rodney a distant second on 3 798. Clarke, the yellow house, led the reds by just over 250 points going into the track finals. Toussaint ended on 3 273, and Ira, 3 202.
Clarkesters starred in Division 2 – second in both events last year, Sherquan Joseph won the Under-18 boys 100m and 200m; and Rhea Jn Philip won the girls 100m and 400m. In his first year at SCSS, Choiseul speedster Devin Mesmain dominated the sprints for the Under-14s, winning 80m, 150m, and 300m.
In the Under-14 girls, however, Toussaint was in charge, with Aminta Didier repeating as girls 600m victrix, adding the 300m crown as well. Her new housemate, Tarnisha Henry, a double bronze medallist at primary school last year, copped gold in the 80m and 150m.
With Amaya Emmanuel away on national football duty, her Clarke teammate Akima Mathurin won the Under-16 girls 100m and 200m. Keanna Butcher repeated as Under-16 400m and 800m gold medallist.
Ira’s Chaz Alexander successfully defended his Under-18 titles in the 800m and 1500m. Kyemani Louisy took the Under-16 boys 400m and 800m. And Ariana Philip grabbed the Under-18 girls 800m and 1500m.
