Corendon Is Launching New Nonstop Flights to Curaçao From Germany, Adding More European Access to the Dutch Caribbean

A new nonstop route is bringing another European gateway to one of the Caribbean’s most popular islands.

Corendon is launching direct flights between Düsseldorf Airport and Curaçao beginning Dec. 14, adding a new connection from Germany to the Dutch Caribbean destination and expanding the island’s reach in one of Europe’s fastest-growing travel markets.

The new service will operate three times weekly, with flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays aboard a World2Fly Airbus A330. The aircraft will include 30 Business Class seats, giving travelers a premium option on the long-haul route.

The launch is another boost for Curaçao’s growing airlift network, which has continued to expand across Europe as demand for Caribbean vacations remains strong.

A New German Gateway to Curaçao

The Düsseldorf-Curaçao route marks a significant step in Corendon’s German expansion strategy.

While more than 15,000 German travelers already visit Curaçao each year through connections via Amsterdam, the new nonstop service removes the need for a transfer and creates a more seamless journey to the island.

The route also strengthens Curaçao’s position in the German-speaking market, an area that tourism officials and travel companies have increasingly targeted as visitor demand continues to grow.

The new flights add another option for European travelers seeking winter sun in the Caribbean, particularly during the peak holiday season when demand for warm-weather destinations traditionally surges.

Why Düsseldorf Matters

The route is about more than Germany.

Düsseldorf Airport has long served as one of western Europe’s most important aviation hubs, particularly for travelers in regions near the Dutch and Belgian borders.

That means the new service will also be attractive to travelers from the Netherlands and Belgium, creating an additional departure point beyond Amsterdam and Brussels.

Residents of North Brabant, Limburg, eastern Netherlands and parts of Belgium can often reach Düsseldorf more easily than other major international airports. The airport’s extensive rail connections are another advantage, with train journeys from cities including Amsterdam and Utrecht taking roughly two hours.

That broader catchment area could significantly expand the audience for direct Curaçao vacations, particularly among travelers looking for alternatives to crowded departure airports during the winter season.

More Airlift for a Fast-Growing Caribbean Destination

The new Corendon route comes as Curaçao continues to build one of the Caribbean’s strongest airlift portfolios.

The island has seen sustained growth from Europe in recent years, supported by additional capacity from airlines serving the Netherlands and other key markets. That trend has helped diversify visitor arrivals while reinforcing Curaçao’s position as a year-round destination.

Visitors arriving in Willemstad find a destination known for its waterfront neighborhoods, historic districts and beach scene stretching from the western coast to the island’s quieter coves.

The UNESCO-listed streets of Punda and Otrobanda remain among the Caribbean’s most distinctive urban centers, while beach destinations such as Playa Porto Mari, Cas Abao Beach and Kokomo Beach continue to draw visitors from across Europe.

The additional airlift from Düsseldorf gives those travelers another direct path to the island at a time when nonstop service has become an increasingly important factor in vacation planning.

Beginning in mid-December, the route arrives just as European travelers enter one of the busiest booking periods of the year for Caribbean vacations.
