A delegation from the National Assembly, led by the First Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Sidney Sukhona, Vice-President of the Asia-Africa Parliamentary Council responsible for the African continent, took part in the proceedings of the Second General Conference of the Asia-Africa Parliamentary Council, which opened today, Monday, in the Libyan city of Benghazi.
Held under the theme ‘A Vision for the Future of Asia-Africa Relations’, the conference forms part of efforts to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the countries of the two continents and to develop mechanisms for coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest, thereby supporting development and stability and promoting the exchange of legislative expertise and experience.
