Dre Island drops his album ‘Love Is In The House’

Long before taking center stage, Dre built his reputation behind the mixing console, engineering tunes for big names like Sizzla and Jah Cure. But when he stepped out from behind the board, he quickly established himself as a frontline voice in the modern Reggae Revival movement, scoring a massive breakout hit with We Pray. His raspy delivery and smooth blend of roots consciousness with current riddims remain central to his sound.

On Love Is In The House, you get a balanced mix of roots, dancehall, R&B, and Afrobeats influences. The standout single Diana pairs Dre with Projexx and Zion deLion over slick production from Gracefinger. Then there’s Roses, which features Iotosh and gets a solid build from CJTheChemist. And tracks like Never Too Far with Tayjah or the Dretegs-produced Situation hit all the right notes. But he also holds it down solo on cuts like Paradise and Never Had A Love.

The project lands via Ineffable Records, the independent Oakland outfit that keeps pushing modern reggae onto the world stage. They continue to give independent Jamaican talent direct access to global audiences, giving this release the proper push it deserves.
