Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Dynamos striker Cuthbert Malajila has joined Central Region Soccer League side Kwekwe United as team manager.
Malajila’s appointment was confirmed on Saturday during the team’s sponsorship unveiling ceremony.
The 2007 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Golden Boot winner will be working under a technical team led by technical director Jairos Tapera, with Prince Chikuni serving as the head coach.
Malajila retired from playing football in 2022 after a one-year stint with CUMA Academy, a project he co-owns with Herbert Manyowa.
Meanwhile, Kwekwe United received US$100,000 from Scott Sakupwanya’s Betterbrands over the weekend. The money is part of a US$300,000 package which the club is getting this year.
Other than that, the team will also receive three vehicles, which will go to the technical team and will have its home ground, Baghdad stadium, renovated.
