Fawn and Keith Weaver’s roles at Uncle Nearest have been terminated, according to a court filing.
The Weavers termination from Uncle Nearest
Receiver Phillip G. Young Jr. shared the announcement in his fourth quarterly report, filed Friday, July 10, in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, according to the Moore County Observer. “While this decision was not made lightly,” Young said, “it has resulted in significantly less confusion among employees and vendors, and has made business operations significantly smoother.”
The Weavers confirmed their termination in a joint answer filed in Farm Credit Mid-America’s lawsuit against Uncle Nearest. Fawn Weaver received a notice of termination from the receiver “on or about June 1, 2026, according to their attorneys. Keith Weaver received a similar note, also stating the filing added that he “was not an employee.”
Lawsuit against The Weavers
Black-owned whiskey brand Uncle Nearest was hit with a $100 million lawsuit for allegedly failing to repay its loans, according to court documents.
The lawsuit has been filed by Louisville-based Farm Credit Mid-America, which accused the company’s founders, Fawn Weaver and her husband, Keith Weaver, of breach of contract, alleging they defaulted on multiple loans totalling $108 million, including interest.
In March, Receiver Phillip G. Young Jr listed the business’s Martha’s Vineyard property for sale. Farm Credit Mid-America is alleging that Uncle Nearest borrowed $2.3 million for the property.
Farm Credit also accused Uncle Nearest of fraud, which includes an attempt to conceal a $20 million loan from Jay-Z. Filings state that Fawn Weaver told ARM Credit the $20 million was a loan from Grant Sidney when it actually came from another source, MP-Tenn LLC, also known as MarcyPen.
