The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, has described the ongoing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council elections as peaceful, free and fair.
Speaking after casting his vote at Voting Unit 02 in Garki, Abuja, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, noting that the process was orderly and transparent.
Jisalo commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of electoral materials and personnel across polling units, adding that voter turnout was encouraging in the areas visited.
He also praised security agencies for maintaining law and order, ensuring that residents could exercise their civic responsibility without fear or intimidation.
The Minister urged eligible voters who were yet to cast their ballots to take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere and participate actively in the democratic process.
The election is ongoing across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
