Fonseca Signs With WME for Worldwide Booking: ‘Is Very Important for My Career’
The Colombian singer-songwriter is preparing to go on tour with his latest album, Antes Que El Tiempo Se Vaya.
Fonseca has signed with WME for worldwide booking, Billboard can announce exclusively on Thursday (July 2). The Colombian singer-songwriter returns to the agency after more than a decade as he prepares to go on tour with his latest album, Antes Que El Tiempo Se Vaya.
“Reconnecting with the WME family at this moment is very important for my career. For almost 10 years, I was part of this house, and today I am very excited to return,” Fonseca tells Billboard Español. “Our Antes Que El Tiempo Se Vaya Tour is about to begin, and we’ll kick off in ‘La Casa,’ my beloved Bogotá, on Oct. 24 at El Campín Stadium in my city.”
Previously, he was with the agency from 2005 to 2013.
“Fonseca is a multi-generational artist whose music has made a lasting impact around the world,” adds Jacob Fox, agent at WME. “We’re honored to welcome him to the WME family and excited to work alongside him as he continues to grow his extraordinary career.”
A nine-time Latin Grammy winner, Fonseca made his music debut in 2002 with a self-titled album. Three years later, he gained international recognition with his second LP, Corazón, and the hit single “Te Mando Flores,” which reached No. 8 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and spent a total of 22 weeks on the ranking.
Since then, he has embarked on extensive tours across Latin America, Europe, Asia and the U.S., solidifying his global presence as one of the most prominent and celebrated Latin singer-songwriters of his generation. His most recent tour, TROPICALIA Tour, concluded with a sold-out concert on April 8 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City.
That same month, he released his 11th studio album, Antes Que El Tiempo Se Vaya, a project in which he sings about life, love, identity and gratitude from a more mature perspective, reflecting on the passage of time and valuing the present as a starting point. Last June, he appeared on Billboard Español‘s digital cover alongside his fellow Colombian artists Juanes, Camilo and Carlos Vives to discuss Colombian identity, fatherhood and soccer.
Beyond music, Fonseca has actively engaged in philanthropic and social initiatives. In 2017, he founded the Gratitud Foundation, which promotes art and music as key drivers of social transformation. Through the foundation, he works to expand access to artistic education for children and youth in vulnerable communities, helping transform their lives.
