Former President of the African Court, Lady Justice Aboud now presides at the High Court of Tanzania, Dodoma Registry
Ms Aboud also served as Judge of the High Court of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam and previously also held several key positions, including the post of the Assistant Director in the President’s Office (Public Service Management) and the State Attorney

Former President of the African Court on Human and People’s Rights Lady Justice Imani Daud Aboud has been anointed to serve the Presiding Judge at the High Court of Tanzania, Dodoma Registry.
Lady Justice Imani Daud Aboud was first elected as Judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights in July 2018.
She was then re-elected for a second and final term of six (6) years in February 2021.
Justice Aboud who holds Master of Laws (Malta) and Bachelor of Laws (University of Dar es Salaam), became the President of the Court in May 2021 and was re-elected in July 2023, for a final two-year term.
Ms Aboud also served as Judge of the High Court of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam and previously also held several key positions, including the post of the Assistant Director in the President’s Office (Public Service Management) and the State Attorney.
In the recent presidential appointments for the Tanzanian judiciary, Mzee Ibrahim Ibrahim was also named the principal judge for the High Court of Zanzibar.
On the other hand, Juliana Laurent Masabo was nominated to serve as the Judge in charge of the High Court in Tanzania, in Dodoma.
Justice Abdi Shaaban Kagomba has been appointed to serve as the High Court judge at the Dodoma registry, while Yohane Bokobora Masara – was named the High Court Judge at the Arusha registry.
Meanwhile Justice Immaculata Kajetan Banzi has been selected to serve as the Judge in-charge at the Kagera registry of the High Court in Tanzania.
Rabia Hussein Mohamed is a new Judge at the High Court of Zanzibar.
Justice Cyprian Phocas Mkeha has been nominated to serve as the Judge in Charge at the Commercial Division of High Court of Tanzania, Dar-es-salaam registry.
On the other hand, Justice Yose Joseph Mlyambina now serves as the Judge in charge at the Labor Division of the High Court of Tanzania, Dar-es-salaam registry.
