It’s been a long time coming, but Freight Brixton will officially open on 7th May 2026, bringing a 1,000+ capacity open-air food, drink and music destination to the heart of South London.

Located a short walk from Brixton tube and railway stations and adjacent to Brixton Village Market, Freight Brixton will become London’s largest rooftop venue which they say will be a culture-led space blending chef residencies, cocktail bars, live music, DJ collectives, food festivals, community programming and major sporting screenings across spring and summer.”
From the team behind Manchester’s award-winning Freight Island, the new venue brings its signature “drink, dance and dine” experience to Brixton, creating around 50 jobs and positioning itself as both a neighbourhood social hub and a major city destination.
The opening programme will see David Rodigan bring his legendary reggae sound system to Freight Brixton on 9th May to kick off the season, followed by Laurence Guy on 16 May with an evening of deep, euphoric house.

On 30th May, Ghosts of Garage takes over the rooftop for a UKG special, before Dimitri From Paris delivers his iconic disco set on 6 June. The venue will also host weekly Soul of the South Thursdays in collaboration with Cross The Tracks Festival, celebrating the very best in jazz, funk and soul.
Beyond music, the rooftop will transform into a major sporting and cultural hub throughout the season, with a dedicated World Cup Fanzone alongside FA Cup and Champions League screenings.

A series of food festivals including Taco Fest and Bite Twice presents Dine Hard will spotlight talent led kitchens, while Reggae Brunch, Maggi Brunch and family friendly daytime sessions add to the summer programme.
Guests can also explore specialty bars including the Casamigos House of Friends and Hotel Milano, an Italian inspired aperitivo concept forming part of the new Brixton Cocktail Club.
