From time to time, we all encounter obstacles in our lives. Some may be big; some may be small. Even so, the way we respond to those obstacles can make a big difference in the end. Author and Educator, Dr. Leticia Starks-Underwood understands the importance of how to respond to life obstacles and challenges. Dr. Myles Munroe said, “Many look, but only a few can see.” It was during the process of navigating obstacles in her life, and using her pain as fuel for her passion that she birthed her publishing company and enhanced her writing skills. Dr. Leticia M. Starks-Underwood is the founder of You Can Make It Book series.
Dr. Leticia M. Starks-Underwood is the founder of You Can Make It Book, LLC. It was through her passion where she was able to write and create three You Can Make It books and four guided journals. The first book in the series revealed her life challenges, and how GOD's grace enabled her to overcome them. During the challenges she reached out for help when no one offered to help publish her book. She prayed to God and searched within for the strength to write and publish her first book, titled "You Can Make It: A Kingdom Book of Encouragement," she found the strength and courage to self-publish it. From her first book came the inspiration for the series and the publishing company.
From there, Leticia wants to continue to use her pain and passion to encourage aspiring writers, to help them unleash their stories from within. Not only does You Can Make It Books help publish books, it also enables individuals to write a series of books designed to encourage readers from the testimonies of the authors who submitted their stories. The You Can Make It Series consist of: “A Kingdom Book of Encouragement, Hope of the Journey of Motherhood, “Defeating Depression,” and “The Power Love, Forgiveness, Healing, Resiliency, and GOD’S Grace.” YCMI is dedicated to publishing and promoting positivity and inspiration through our company, books, articles, blogs, newsletters, and other outlets.
In addition, Leticia Starks-Underwood is an educator, mentor, and student. She currently serves as an educator at Cornerstone Christian College Prep Day and High School International, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She gives credit to GOD, her family, her grandfather and mentor, Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood. Her personal relationship with GOD, and the support as well as the encouragement of her family, especially from her grandfather, Pastor, and Mentor, helped her learn to trust GOD, and reach within herself to recognize the possibilities that GOD placed within her, to pursue her dreams.
