Bank Holiday Monday saw the country’s record for the hottest day in May being smashed as City Splash took over Brockwell Park for a joyous celebration of music and culture.

Press access was via the VIP entrance where we encountered a whole load of angry people who had paid extra only to find themselves in a huge, hour-long queue.
As the VIPs sweltered in the soaring heat, tempers became frayed as aggressive blokes barged their way to the front of the queue, with the security doing nothing to stop them.
Not a good start to a festival renown for its good vibes.


The space in front of the main stage was uncomfortably crowded at times.
