KCCA and Kitara battle for spot in Fufa Super 8 finale

KCCA and Kitara lock horns in the first Fufa Super 8 semi-final with either’s eye set on the finale.

To get here, KCCA eliminated BUL 4-2 on aggregate with 2-1 wins home and away while Kitara beat Police 4-1 over the two legs despite losing the second 1-0.

The two sides have met before in this competition with Kitara overcoming the Kasasiro although the Royals have never played in the final.

Brian Ssenyondo, former Kitara coach now at KCCA is optimistic of getting over his former bosses but admits a huge task awaits pointing at the importance of winning this trophy.

“We face a good opponent and we anticipate a difficult game but like we showed against BUL, we are ready and the target is to win and get into the final,” he said.

“This competition is very important for us because it sets tone for the season in front of us and we want to win it.

“There is being competitive like we were last season and then winning trophies and that is the main target this season. To bring trophies back to this club because it is what it is known for.”

Ibrahim Kasule could be available for selection after completing his move on Friday but it remains a mystery on whether he will be given minutes.

Charles Lwanga, two goals in two matches so far will be key for the Yellow Boys in attack alongside Sammy Ssebaduka and Said Mayanja.

For Kitara, Wasswa Bbosa will look to Kabon Living, experienced Patrick Kaddu and company to lead the hunt for goals but must be clinical at the back to stop Lwanga and company.

In the early kickoff, BUL and Police square off in the 5/6^th play off match.
