Not so many teams have gone away with maximum points from Yumbe and KCCA are the latest casualties as the home side secured a 1-0 win on Saturday at Midigo Primary School Playground.
KCCA title pursuit suffered a big setback as they crushed to Calvary thus granting table leaders Vipers who play on Sunday advantage.
Lawrence Olaboro scored the lone goal to guide Cavalry to only their second win of the season. The goal arrived at the hour mark and this eventually turned out to be the decisive moment of the game.
KCCA went into the game with a depleted squad, missing over 12 first team players, the latest absentees being Herbert Achayi, Gavin Kizito, Filbert Obenchan and Alex Yiga among others.
The loss means KCCA remains second on the table with 51 points, four behind Vipers who play tomorrow at home against Entebbe UPPC.
On the other hand, Calvary have given themselves a huge boost in the relegation fight. Despite remaining bottom of the table on 13 points, they are only four behind safety zone.
The recent performance has seen Calvary improve, winning twice and drawing as much in their last four games without conceding. They defeated Buhimba United 2-0 at home before picking back to back goalless draws against Lugazi and Kitara plus today’s win.
