- At FUFA Technical Center, Njeru
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the new venue for the 52nd final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup final between Kitara and Sports Club Villa as the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru in Buikwe District.
“This decision has been taken in the interest of fair-play and to ensure a neutral match environment for both finalists” a letter signed by Shawn Mubiru, FUFA competitions director read in part.

The new venue comes after the earlier one stated by the football governing body as FUFA Stadium, Kadiba that Kitara appealed, alleging it grants Sports Club Villa an advantage since the Jogoos have been hosting their league and Stanbic Uganda Cup matches there.
The date, Saturday, 30th May 2026 remains unchanged pending the match officials who will handle this cracker of a match.
Kitara will be playing their second final in a period of three years since winning 1-0 over NEC during the 2023-2024 edition at the Muteesa II Wankukuluku stadium.
Sports Club Villa boasts of nine Uganda Cup titles, the last one coming in 2015 against Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) at the Mandela National Stadium after the in-famous aborted finale in Ntungamo.
To reach the final, Sports Club Villa dumped out URA 3-0 on aggregate over two legs at the semi-final stage whilst Kitara eliminated Vipers on away goals’ rule following a 1-all draw in two legs.
The winner of the Stanbic Uganda Cup earns the ticket to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
This championship remains the oldest knock out competition having been played since 1971.
Clubs from across the country (both league and non-league) are allowed to take part in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
